Hidden Manipulators: Who is Behind the “Kosova Independence” Campaign?
“Nothing was happening” in Kosovo. That soon changed. Husarska and the ICG then stepped in with an example of how the free media and the free press work in the “free world”. Of course, we have all seen this before […]
The Balkans conflicts of the 1990s saw a massive revival and resurgence of US and Western media propaganda and infowar techniques. The “new” advocacy journalists recalled the “yellow journalism” of William Randolph Hearst, who helped induce the US to engage in the imperialistic or colonial war in Cuba in 1898, the Spanish-American War. This marked the emergence of the US as an expansionist global imperial and colonial power, like Britain, France, Spain, and Germany had been. Hearst was credited with manufacturing or “furnishing” the war in Cuba.
Frederic Remington, his correspondent in Cuba, reported that nothing was happening in Cuba, that all was quiet. He told Hearst that there would be no war. In a famous dispatch back to Remington, Hearst told Remington to stay: “You furnish the pictures and I’ll furnish the war.”
This was the same policy pursued in Kosovo. US correspondent Anna Husarska admitted that this was the policy. She explained and detailed the strategy in this article.
Anna Husarska said: For a decade, Albanians living in Kosovo have complained about their lack of an independent state, “yet they don’t do anything about it. No graffiti, no signs, no demonstrations.”
While Kosovar Albanians profess pacifism, Anna Husarska explained, that should not prevent them from waging literary activism. “Ultimately, the passivity of this movement made it impossible for journalists to cover the problem because nothing was happening.”
That, indeed, was the problem. Nothing was happening. The Albanians were not killing Kosovo Serb civilians and were not murdering Kosovo Serb and Kosovo Albanian policemen. “Nothing was happening” in Kosovo. Husarska was convinced that pacifism and peaceful change were useless, not even Albanians wanted to create a Greater Albania, an “independent Kosova”. Like William Randolph Hearst, who developed “advocacy journalism”, Husarska understood that war was needed, that NATO bombs were needed, that US “humanitarian intervention” was needed. But first, the Albanians had to start burning down Serbian Orthodox Churches and killing Serbian policemen and civilians in Kosovo. How else do you manufacture or “furnish” a war?
Before Hearst, John L. O’Sullivan perfected the use of the media to advance political and military agendas. O’Sullivan was a journalist who propounded the concept of “manifest destiny” to advocate the US annexation of Texas and the Oregon territory in 1845, territory that did not belong to the US. He developed the subtle symbiosis of the media and the military and political sector working in tandem before Hearst and Husarska. He believed that the US had a “divine mandate” from “Providence” to expand and take over territory “in defence of humanity” and to spread the concept of the “universality of freedom and equality”. President George W. Bush’s globalist universal crusade to spread “democracy” and “freedom” owes more to O’Sullivan’s manifest destiny than it does to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin or Leon Trotsky. It is home-grown, Made in the U.S.A.
What is remarkable is that Husarska reveals that the Kosovo conflict is actually about separatism and secession, about creating an “independent state” by means of force and violence. Internationally recognized borders were no longer respected. Secession and separatism were now promoted by Husarska and the ICG as valid and legitimate. Secession and separatism were the exact same things the Bosnian Serbs and Krajina Serbs were seeking. There was an obvious double-standard and inconsistent approach. Husarska and the ICG decided what separatist movements were valid and legitimate and which were not. Naturally, proxies, clients, and surrogates were the separatists and secessionists they supported and backed and advocated for. We can get your “independent state” for you.
Husarska let slip that the Kosovo crisis was about creating an “independent state”. The problem was: How do you “furnish” or manufacture a war that would create an “independent Kosova”. This is a Freudian slip. But, in fact, Husarska has no intention of concealing her motives and agenda. The mask comes down. There is nothing about “humanitarian intervention” or “genocide” or “human rights” now. Nothing about “repression” and “oppression”. The goal was an ethnically pure, ethnically cleansed, “independent Kosova”. That was always the real reason all along. She is a news reporter and she worked for the International Crisis Group (ICG), whose Chairman Emeritus Martti Ahtisaari planned to honor and commemorate Finland’s Nazi SS troops in 1999 when he was the President of Finland. How can you be a news correspondent and a member of a quasi-government and quasi-corporate militant, advocacy “think tank”? Isn’t there a blatant conflict of interest that is both unethical and unprofessional? The bias and prejudice and hidden agenda are obvious.
“Nothing was happening” in Kosovo. That soon changed. Husarska and the ICG then stepped in with an example of how the free media and the free press work in the “free world”. Of course, we have all seen this before. William Randolph Hearst led the way in 1898. The “Kosova independence” campaign is not a spontaneous or natural phenomenon. It was manufactured or “furnished” from without and is not an indigenous movement. It is a totally manufactured and “furnished” movement with its origins outside of Kosovo. The 1878 League of Prizren genesis of the Greater Albania ideology requires a foreign sponsor to succeed, whether the outside sponsor is fascist Italy under Benito Mussolini or Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler or Habsburg Austria-Hungary under Emperor Franz Joseph or Ottoman Turkey under Sultan Abdul Hamid II. The Greater Albania ideology is not new and does not change. Only the outside, foreign sponsor changes. The only issue is that of outside, foreign sponsorship. Who is pulling the strings in this absurd puppet show?

As Kosovo tries to stop its sons from going off to fight in Iraq and Syria, sympathy for their cause remains strong among some hardline Muslims. The calls stopped coming more than three months ago.Even while fighting in Iraq and Syria for the militants of Islamic State, Musli Musliu still checked in with his family regularly. He used to post photos on Facebook, showing a beaming young man posing with his comrades. One even shows him in a sweet shop.It was during one of those calls, in April, that he broke the news that his brother, Valon, had been killed. The ...
I will not dwell either on the prehistory nor early history of the region of Kosovo-Metochia (KosMet) in this article. The Montenegrins and medieval SerbiaIt used to pass from one state to the other, until Stephan Nemanja (1166−1196), a nobleman from Zeta (present-day Montenegro), founded the state of Serbia, whose center very soon later became exactly in today’s KosMet. First a Byzantine vassal dukedom, Serbia became soon an independent state, to become an empire under the rule of Stephan Dušan (1331−1355), the first Emperor of Serbia.[1]Serbia’s Nemanjić’s dynasty ended with Dušan’s son, Uroš, disintegrating into many feudal possessions.[2] In the epic ...
Kosovo Ethics, which are implanted in the national consciousness of the Serbian people, have not changed for 600 years – nor will they ever change. The basic values of those ethics, bequeathed to Serbians on Vidovdan in 1389, have not been chiseled on 2 stone tablets, but are impressed in the inmost being of every Serb.Every nation has 1 date in its history which it considers more important than any other. For the Serbs, the most important date in their history is June 15, by the old calendar – June 28, by the new calendar (Vidovdan). On that day, in ...
Former President Bill Clinton continues to be feted around the world as a progressive champion of human rights. However, a European Union task force last week confirmed that the ruthless cabal he empowered by bombing Serbia in 1999 has committed atrocities that include murdering individuals to extract and sell their kidneys, livers and other body parts.Clint Williamson, the chief prosecutor of a special European Union task force, declared that senior members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) had engaged in “unlawful killings, abductions, enforced disappearances, illegal detentions in camps in Kosovo and Albania, sexual violence, forced displacements of individuals from ...
President Bill Clinton’s favorite freedom fighter just got indicted for mass murder, torture, kidnapping, and other crimes against humanity. In 1999, the Clinton administration launched a 78-day bombing campaign that killed up to 1500 civilians in Serbia and Kosovo in what the American media proudly portrayed as a crusade against ethnic bias. That war, like most of the pretenses of U.S. foreign policy, was always a sham.Kosovo President Hashim Thaci was charged with ten counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity by an international tribunal in The Hague in the Netherlands. It charged Thaci and nine other men with ...
An inquiry by the EU has found “compelling indications” that ten Serb captives had their body organs harvested for illegal trafficking during the 1998-99 Kosovo war. However, it wasn’t widespread and there will be no trial, the lead investigator said. The chief prosecutor Clint Williamson, who led the investigation, said there was no evidence of widespread organ harvesting, but that the crime had occurred a number of times.“There are compelling indications that this practice did occur on a very limited scale and that a small number of individuals were killed for the purpose of extracting and trafficking their organs,” he told ...
Back in the 1990s something happened in central Bosnia-Herzegovina that inspired people to this day and helps explain why that country now has more men fighting in Syria and Iraq (over 300), as a proportion of its population, than most in Europe. The formation of a "Mujahideen Battalion" in 1992, composed mainly of Arab volunteers in central Bosnia, was a landmark. Today the dynamic of jihad has been reversed and it is Bosnians who are travelling to Arab lands."There is a war between the West and Islam," says Aimen Dean, who, as a young Saudi Arabian volunteer, travelled to fight in ...

The only discussion of principle emerging from the debates over Kosovar and Crimean independence is that initiated by Woodrow Wilson towards the end of World War One, about whether national minorities have the right to self-determination. Can a smaller group be compelled to be part of a larger state, or should they be permitted to secede? To what extent do minority rights amount to a freedom to determine one’s own sovereignty? In June 1999 an international military force led by the United States annexed Kosovo, then a province in southern Serbia with a population of perhaps 1.6 million people. Virtually all ...
The Kosovo Question recently once again became an important issue of global politics and international relations for two reasons: 1) The Albanian “government” of the “Republic of Kosovo” announced to officially proclaim the existence of the Kosovo Army (that is a violation of the 1244 UN Resolution in 1999), and 2) The “president” of the “Republic of Kosovo”, a war criminal Hashim Tachi, participated on November 11th (2018) in Paris to the world leaders’ celebration of a centenary anniversary of the end of the WWI (the signed armistice with Germany) as the official representative of an “independent” Kosovo. He was ...
The same arguments used to justify a western ‘humanitarian intervention’ in Kosovo in 1999 could be used to support a Russian intervention in Ukraine. This article originally appeared at IrrussianalityYesterday, I gave a talk on ‘The Folly of Military Intervention’ at McGill University. Afterwards, one of the students asked me a question about parallels between the wars in Kosovo in 1999 and Ukraine in 2014/15. As I answered, I found myself thinking about the scale of the humanitarian crises in both cases and what this means for supporters of so-called ‘humanitarian intervention’.In 1999, NATO aircraft bombed Yugoslavia for three months. The aim, ...
Key facts about Kosovo’s Islamic Albanian minority of Serbia and the century long drive by Islamic extremists to exterminate Kosovo Serbs from that region:1389—Muslims defeat Christian Serb defenders in Kosovo, depopulate the area and invite mountain tribe of Albanians, in exchange for converting to Islam, to take over pillaged land from Serbs.1594—Sinan Pasha, an ethnic Albanian, who was a commander in the Ottoman Turkish Empire, burned the relics of St. Sava at Vracar, Belgrade. St. Sava is the Saint that brought Serbs into Christianity.1878—Albanian nationalist leaders meet in Prizren, known as the First League of Prizren, to announce the creation ...
In one of the more bizarre foreign policy announcements of a bizarre Obama Administration, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced that Washington will “help” Kosovo to join NATO as well as the European Union. She made the pledge after a recent Washington meeting with Kosovan Prime Minister Hashim Thaci in Washington where she praised the progress of the Thaci government in its progress in “European integration and economic development.”1Her announcement no doubt caused serious gas pains among government and military officials in the various capitals of European NATO. Few people appreciate just how mad Clinton’s plan to push ...
The current political process of acceptance of the quasi-independent state of Kosovo to the full UN’s UNESCO’s membership opened once again a question of NATO’s military intervention against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (the FRY) in March−June 1999 as a foundation for Kosovo’s secession from Serbia and its unilateral proclamation of a quasi-independence in February 2008. Kosovo became the first and only European state up today that is ruled by the terrorist warlords as a party’s possession – the (Albanian) Kosovo Liberation Army (the KLA). The aim of this article is to investigate the nature of NATO’s war on Yugoslavia ...
Editor: Little did I know when I posted a short news story about the ‘invasion of Hungary’ last evening that the situation in Kosovo has become untenable and a mass exodus was so advanced. ‘Pungentpeppers’ has again pulled many threads together to give us the big picture of what is happening in Eastern Europe. True, the majority of investors are Americans who bore a relation to the “democratization” of Yugoslavia that was carried out at the end of the 90s of the last century. Among them is the former commander of NATO forces in Kosovo retired general Wesley Clark, who is determined to invest more than 5.5 billion dollars in the former Yugoslav republic. Experts say that Washington’s strategy could be characterized by the following slogan: “Conquer and plunder”.His closest supporters say that Wesley Clark is a great strategist. He wrote the book “Winning Modern Wars” that was published in 2001. In his fundamental ...
Or Yugoslavia’s for that matter. The level of western cynicism on “territorial integrity” is far greater than you probably know. The Kosovo-Crimea discrepancy is just the tip of the icebergEarlier this month Obama gave an earful to Putin (from a G7 meeting held 2,000 kilometres away from Moscow) complaining that this day and age you just can’t go around violating the “territorial integrity” and “sovereignty” of other countries:“Does he continue to wreck his country’s economy and continue Russia’s isolation in pursuit of a wrong-headed desire to recreate the glories of the Soviet empire? Or does he recognize that Russia’s greatness does not ...
Kacanik, KOSOVO – A plume of smoke hangs over our table in the corner of a dark, shabby café in this rugged town in southern Kosovo. The lanky 19-year-old sitting next to me is chain-smoking through half a pack of L&Ms, his hands trembling as he recalls how he joined one of the world's most brutal militant Islamist groups.Through his neatly trimmed beard, Adem, who asks me not to use his real name for fear of arrest, says he had never even left Kosovo. But two years ago, he found himself on the perilous and far-off Turkey-Syria border -- a ...
The real question is not whether the status of Kosovo and Metohija should be negotiated; the actual questions to be asked are: On which basis? About what? Whom with? The sole legitimate basis is that Kosovo and Metohija is an integral part of Serbia currently placed under UN mandate, pending a Security Council decision ending it. In other words, this is mandate cannot be terminated either by the EU, or NATO, the USA, Germany, or France and, should this idea ever occurred to anyone, Serbia cannot end it, either.International law (the UN Charter, the OSCE Final Act) and the Constitution of ...
The media never merely report the news. They manipulate and distort the news. They want to tell you what and how to think. Pursuant to this role, they routinely rewrite history. A striking instance of media rewriting of history is in the reporting on Kosovo. In the AP article “US Prosecutor to Probe Kosovo Organ Trafficking”, it is reported that the alleged atrocity occurred “during Kosovo’s war for independence from Serbia” in 1999.Everyone remembers that war as one to prevent genocide and ethnic cleansing, that it was “a humanitarian intervention”. But here it is now characterized and defined as a ...
